2nd Week

What's up peeps! This post gonna be about what I have learnt from last week.

So last week was the starting of our first topic and that is Blog Writing for ELT (English for Learning Technologies) and it got 4 types of blog which are:
  • ·        Weblog
  • ·        Tutor blog
  • ·        Class blog
  • ·        Learner blog


We are also told by our lecturer of why we use the blog. It is because the blogs plays an important role to encourage shy students to participate more in class.


And for the second class of week we are taught about CALL. Do you know what it really was? No? Let me tell you then. It was actually an acronym for Computer Assisted Language Learning. There are also 4 different types of CALL programmes:
  • ·        CALL specific software
  • ·        Web-based learning materials
  • ·        Generic software
  • ·        Computer-mediated communication (CMC) programme



We also learnt about the Search Engine and Online Database. And we have four part of Search Engines

  • Database (a storage where all index webpages stored)
  • web Crawlers (automated program, crawls to collect info)
  • User Interface
  • Information retrieval System
And that’s all I’m gonna share for this post. Let’s just hope that I’m not gonna be lazy to update more and more. See ya next time!

Hi hello everyone! My name is Nik Farah Syamimi Binti Nik Amran . Welcome to this personal blog of mine. I am from Pasir Mas, Kelantan and have lived there for almost 22 years and yes, you can already guess my age. I’m currently studying for my degree in Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Applied English Language Studies. So this blog is actually made for a subject called Internet Technologies For Language Learning, ESP6013 that was teach by our beloved lecturer, Madam Azidatunnoor starting from last week. She has briefed a little bit of info regarding the coursework for this subject. When I listened to the briefing, I could tell that this subject is going to be fun to learn especially when I am with my friends. I think its getting bored in here so I’m gonna end my post for now. G'day mate! Today is another day of learning Internet Technologies for Language Learning. What we’re learning this week is about Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) and ESL. CMC which is any form of communication or interaction between two or more people via separated computer s through network connection. There are two types of CMC: Asynchronous CMC Messages that are not exchanged and replies to immediately.  For example: social media, internet forum and message board, email, blog Synchronous CMC Messages that are exchanged and replied to immediately. For examples, messenger, video/audio conferencing. That is all for today. See ya next time!!
